When Death Occurs at Home

When death occurs at home and their death was expected it should be either certified by their doctor or verified by a qualified nurse. When this has been done you may contact us anytime so we can covey them to our Chapel of Rest.

The deceased’s doctor will issue the ‘Medical Certificate of Cause of Death’, this will be emailed to the Registrar.

If their death was unexpected it may be referred to the Coroner.

When Death Occurs in a Nursing/Residential Home

It is not unusual for the care home to ask you which is your preferred funeral director, they will then be able to contact us day or night when death occurs.

Nursing homes usually have medically trained staff who can verify that your loved one has passed away. They can then contact ourselves to arrange for us to convey them into our care.

We will contact the Doctors surgery on your behalf to inform them of their passing who in turn will issue the ‘Medical Certificate of Cause of Death’, this will be emailed to the Registrar.

If their death was unexpected it may be referred to the Coroner.
